Squirrel problems..?

My house has squirrels running around up in the attic...

we've had a pest control guy come last year.. but they just came back this year..

maybe its because its cold and theirs acorns that fall on our house..

any ideas to get rid of them?Squirrel problems..?
Good luck...when they are out, lure them out with a nut trail (I know that sounds silly, but it will work), then fill up the whole where they are coming in, if its the chimney, get a cover, we used to get birds in the house, til my husband put a cover on it, they would be flying around in there, scaring the daylights out of my kids and my grandmother, and I'd have to come home from work to chase them out...what a nightmare (pain in the a**)!Squirrel problems..?
I've seen these screen things on TV that you can put over the holes where they go in and out and it keeps them from going in but they can go out. You could find some of those %26amp; when you don't hear the ';little darlins'; up there anymore seal up the holes.
I'm a certified home inspector. Never seal up any venting in your house. If your attic is not properly ventilated moisture will build up, mold will spread like crazy, and your wood will start to rot. I've seen it before, to the point that the entire roof, sheathing, insulation needs to be replaced, and everything needs to be professionally sprayed and scrubbed to remove mold and the spores.

It's better to put a screen over any holes or vents. Be aware that if you block the squirrels way in than you block their way out. So if any squirrels are still inside they will eventually die and leave an awful stench.

Your vents should already have a screen but sometimes they fall off or someone takes them off not understanding their purpose.

Vents are usually located under your eves and on top of your roof.

If you're an animal lover you could also create a backyard habitat that allows for squirrel nests, places for them to raise their young, store food, etc... Perhaps they will be happier out of your attic.
trap them then kill them
Yep you got the answer. Get some cats.
Shoot the little B..tards!

Nah... that would be cruelty to animals, Get someone else to do it for ya.
Block up all the holes around the roof .
Destroy your home but save the foundation. Rebuild this time go far above the trees and no ledges for the squirrels to grab onto . It is also prudent to put machine gun turrets on all four corners of your new home as to allow for challenging devil squirrels .
Try looking for holes around the attic, if there are, try sealing them up. As for the acorns, if the problem still continues, try cutting the tree down maybe?
You need to find out where they are getting in.

You could also try those sonic sound devices that are supposed to get rid of moles.

Failing that, my father in law shoots them....
Put a few cats up there. Sit back, listen and have a good laugh!
Call a different pest control guy than you called last year. You'll have to seal up enterences by putting up screens and distract them with bird houses full of seed.
Let a cat sniff around in the attic and the squirrels won't come back. There are pest repellants you can buy to deter them from coming back too - no need to kill them off.
Yeah, buy a cat, throw him in your attic, and never feed him....lol, j/k.....all you can do is block all entry ways...Use chicken wire.
buy a cat
Squirrels come back each winter to their home. The pest control guys didnt catch all of the Squirrels last year so the remaining ones are back this winter. It may not have been the pest control companies fault because sometimes the Squirrels move out before they have a chance to catch them.

You cant just close the holes because the Squirrels will just chew new holes. ( They think it is their home to ). You have to find all of the holes and trap each Squirrel and euthanize them or take them 5 miles away and release them. or hire someone to do that. mothball dont work only trapping
