Squirrel problem that made a hold in our garbage outside. ?

We have 5 Squirrels that feed on our garbage outside, they made a hole with their teeth to get inside. We put pumpkins out and in one day they were all eaten up from the Squirrels. I just want to know why doesn't our next door neighbor have a Squirrel problem making holes in their garbage and eating their pumpkins? What can we do to keep them away?Squirrel problem that made a hold in our garbage outside. ?
Buy some household ammonia at the grocery store and put it in a spray bottle. Every once in a while spray around and all over the trash barrels as well as on the pumpkins, especially right after a rain. It will keep the squirrel and raccoons away.Squirrel problem that made a hold in our garbage outside. ?
First of all, get metal garbage cans with tight fitting lids. Squirrels will not chew through galvanized containers. Secondly, since they have been able to get at your garbage, they are just staying at your house because they have a steady supply. Third, we buy bags of the unsalted squirrel peanuts and corn and put it at the far end of our property to lure them away from our garbage. They don't bother our garbage anyhow...cans are too hard to get into. We also have a dog that loves to chase the squirrels. And, we also double bag our food garbage in the plastic grocery bags we get from the store. We also don't put garbage out until garbage day. For us, we live in the boonies so we have to drive to the dump. But if you have garbage service, try not to put your food garbage into the cans until close to pickup.
Shoot em! Skin em! then gut em , clean em, and eat em, salt the hide for 1-2 weeks, and dispose of the carcass in the very same trash they are getting into. That is the only way to get those tree rats respect. You will need 1. a pellet rifle or slingshot 2. a sharp pocket knife 3. some salt. 4. a grill 5. horseradish sauce.
the neighbors aren't stupid enough to leave food out for the squirrels so the squirrels don't bother visiting them!!! that might be a HINT!!!!
